Terms of use & donations

Last updated 25 April 20268 min read

These terms set the base rules for using this website, making donations, following our updates, and interacting with Health & Hope Foundation. They are written to be practical and clear, but they do not replace legal advice.

01

Using this site

By using this website, contacting us through it, or making a donation, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.

If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the site or submit information through it.

02

Legal identity

Health & Hope Foundation is the public name for Health Hope Foundation LBG, a Ghana-registered private company limited by guarantee. Registration number: CG062850925. Incorporated in Accra on 15 September 2025 under the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992).

Our registered office is House Number 3, Templesi Lane, near Brazilian Embassy, Airport Residential, Accra, Ghana. Postal address: P.O. Box OS 853, Osu-Accra.

References to "Health & Hope", "the foundation", "we", "us", or "our" mean Health Hope Foundation LBG unless the context says otherwise.

03

Who may use the site

You may use this site only for lawful purposes. If you make a donation, you confirm that you are legally able to do so and that you are using your own payment method or have permission from the payment-method owner.

If you are under 18, you should use the site and make any donation only with a parent or guardian's permission.

04

Donations

All donations are voluntary gifts to Health & Hope Foundation. You choose the amount, frequency, payment method, and, where available, the care fund you want to support.

Donation amounts may be shown in US dollars or another currency depending on the checkout experience. Your bank, card issuer, mobile-money provider, or payment processor may apply exchange rates, fees, or additional checks outside our control.

A donation is not a purchase of goods or services and does not create ownership, control, voting rights, or a right to direct individual care decisions.

05

Recurring gifts

If you choose a monthly or recurring gift, it will continue until cancelled through the payment provider or by contacting us with enough information to identify the gift.

We aim to act on cancellation requests within two business days, but a payment already being processed may still complete. If that happens, contact us and we will review the case.

06

Refunds

Because donations are gifts, they are generally non-refundable once accepted and assigned to programme work.

We may issue a refund where there has been a clear error, duplicate charge, unauthorised transaction, technical issue, or other exceptional circumstance. Contact us as soon as possible with the donation amount, date, contact details used, and any receipt reference.

Refunds can usually only be returned to the original payment method and may depend on payment-provider rules.

07

Restricted gifts

If you give to a specific care fund, we will make reasonable efforts to use your gift for that fund.

If a fund is fully funded, delayed, changed, or no longer practical to deliver, we may redirect the gift to a closely related healthcare-access need unless you contact us promptly to request another available option.

We do not accept donor instructions that would require unlawful, unsafe, discriminatory, or inappropriate action, or that would compromise beneficiary dignity or privacy.

08

Receipts and tax

We provide donation acknowledgements and records for your own files. Tax treatment depends on the laws of your country and your personal circumstances.

Unless we state otherwise in writing for a specific jurisdiction, you should not assume a gift is tax-deductible. Please speak with a qualified adviser before relying on a donation for tax purposes.

09

How we use donations

Donations may support healthcare access, treatment gaps, medicines, diagnostics, care transport, partner coordination, mobile clinic logistics, reporting, administration, governance, payment-processing fees, and reserves for urgent needs.

We try to keep funds close to the purpose donors selected while also allowing enough flexibility to respond responsibly when field conditions change.

We maintain internal records, receipts, programme notes, and governance documentation. Summary information may be shared publicly or with donors in a privacy-safe way.

10

Healthcare support

Health & Hope helps remove financial and practical barriers to care. We may work with healthcare providers, community partners, logistics partners, and families to assess and coordinate support.

Support is subject to available funds, partner confirmation, safeguarding review, and practical feasibility. We cannot guarantee that every request will be accepted or funded.

We may decline, pause, or redirect support where information is incomplete, where a request is unsafe or outside our scope, or where another provider is better placed to respond.

11

No medical advice

Information on this site is for general communication about our work. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, emergency guidance, or a substitute for a qualified healthcare professional.

If you or someone else may need urgent medical attention, contact local emergency services, a hospital, clinic, or qualified healthcare provider immediately.

Any care decision should be made with an appropriate healthcare professional. Health & Hope is not responsible for medical decisions made by third-party providers.

12

Stories, images, and safeguarding

Stories, images, videos, captions, and field notes are shared to explain the work and build accountability, not to expose private hardship.

We may anonymise, shorten, or withhold details to protect dignity, privacy, safety, and consent. We may remove or edit content at any time if we believe continued publication is inappropriate.

You may not copy, scrape, republish, or use beneficiary images or stories in a way that is misleading, exploitative, commercial, political, or harmful.

13

User conduct

You must not use the site to submit false information, impersonate another person, interfere with the site's security, attempt unauthorised access, upload malicious code, harass anyone, or engage in unlawful, abusive, discriminatory, or harmful conduct.

We may block, remove, or report activity that appears unsafe, fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful.

14

Intellectual property

The site's design, text, graphics, logos, photos, videos, and other content belong to Health & Hope Foundation or are used with permission unless stated otherwise.

You may share links to public pages for non-commercial purposes. You may not reproduce, sell, alter, or republish site content without permission, especially beneficiary stories, images, or programme materials.

16

Site availability and accuracy

We try to keep the site accurate, useful, and available, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free content, or that all information will always be current.

Programme details, budgets, timelines, locations, partners, and care funds may change as needs, safety, funding, or field conditions change.

17

Our liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Health & Hope Foundation is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or loss-of-profit damages arising from use of the site, donations, third-party services, or reliance on general site content.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for fraud or intentional misconduct.

18

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer or data-protection rights that may apply where you live.

We will try to resolve questions or complaints directly first, in writing. Where formal proceedings are necessary, they will be handled by courts or authorities with proper jurisdiction.

19

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the website, donation flow, programmes, providers, or legal requirements change.

The last-updated date shows the current version. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
